 Standard Features

Domain name registration:

If you do not already have a domain name, I can register one for you in your name. I use the GoDaddy registrar, and they charge less than $10 a year.

Web hosting account:

A web hosting account gives you space on a web server for storing your web site files, and the server lets people view your web site. I can set up a hosting account with Tango or another host of your choice. See my web hosting plans.

Search engine optimization and submission:

Good informational content is important as well as adding relevant keywords to page titles, meta description tags, headings and links. I submit your site to the biggest non-charging search engines: Google, Yahoo and dmoz.org, and they feed search results to Alltheweb, Alta Vista, AOL Search, Dogpile, Excite, HotBot, InfoSpace, MSN Search, Netscape Search and Webcrawler. Inclusion takes any where from 2 weeks to 2 months.

Contact form:

A nice option for when a visitor wants to send you an email, and he is not at his own computer or the computer is not configured to send email.

Visitor counter:

This counter tracks the number of unique visitors to your web site instead of hits which are misleading. It is hidden from your visitors on an admin page that requires a password.

 Special Features

Animation:

Add a fun text or image effect to your home page or company name. Provide a slide show of your artwork or make a product or service come alive.

Database:

Databases are useful for product catalogs, rate tables, member directories, etc. They are easy to update via an online interface which is part of your web hosting account.

Online store:

Ecommerce can range from a single 'Buy Now' button to an integrated shopping cart with a back end product and order management interface. I like to use PayPal as the credit card processor as they have the lowest overall fees to the store owner.

Forum:

A forum or a bulletin board can help build an online community. I use PHPBB which comes free with all of my hosting plans. I can set up and customize the board and then show you how to run it.

Blog:

Blogs have become a popular way to communicate online. I can set up and customize a blog for you via www.blogger.com and show you how to run it.

Appointment scheduler:

Let your customers see your availability and schedule appointments online 24/7. I can set it up and integrate it with your web site.

Content manager setup and training:

Contribute is a desktop application which lets you add text, links, images and even new web pages without knowing HTML. I can connect it to your web site and demo it for you.
